Yes it is true one of the biggest online portal and search company has joined the world of online gambling. However, residents in their home country are not welcome. Yahoo is offering real money online poker and bingo through its U.K. subsidiary. They have teamed up with St. Miniver, a Gibralter based company to offer real money online poker.
I have to wonder if YAHOO will take a position on the legislation introduce by Barney Frank last week.

On April 26, 2007 Congressman Barney Frank introduced H.R. 2046 to provide for the licensing of Internet gambling facilities. In short this legislation would create an exemption to the ban on online gambling for properly licensed operators, allowing Americans to lawfully bet online.
The cosponsors of the bill are Gary Ackerman, Shelly Berkley, Michael E. Capuano, Julia Carson, William Clay, Luis V. Gutierrez, Steve Israel, Peter King, Ron Paul, Melvin Watt and Robert Wexler.
If one of these is your representative, be sure to call or email to express your gratitude for putting this legislation forward. If not contact your representative and urge him to support this legislation.
The proposed legislation would institute practical and enforceable standards to bring transparency to Internet gambling and provide consumers the protections they expect and deserve.
